Accuri built the first low cost, high performance, easy to use analytical flow cytometer. A flow cytometer uses hardware and software to analyze a cell’s size, shape, color and similar characteristics. FCs have a high throughput and can analyze several thousand cells quickly. FCs are an essential research tool used by pharma companies as well as clinical diagnostic labs. The Accuri product design is a compact, light weight and robust instrument, making it possible for the first time to adopt a lowcost, through-the-mail service strategy. Accuri’s performance specifications match those of the best selling conventional cytometers, but Accuri’s instrument, software and service contracts are priced within the purchasing authority of most researchers.

Accuri was sold to Becton Dickinson in March 2011.
